Not only that, but I believe Atom has a lot more processing power than the A4 in the Ipad. As INTC concentrates on this market by improving Atom's power per watt, we could easily see AAPL using Atom, just as they switched to INTC on laptops after giving it a go with others. AAPL is the best at system/software integration--chip design/manufacturing isn't their forte.
Tark, true, but I don't think HP would have spent money advertising it in the last few days if it weren't real--that would simply help AAPL as the new form factor is promoted. Several bloggers got to check it out at CES and they were extremely impressed. I think HP can sell it for less than a netbook if you look at the components, so I suspect everyone will offer pads/slates by next year and the prices are headed lower. It will likely become a great MID, but supplementing, not replacing the laptop/netbook market.
