Wrap your minds around this: NVDIA ARM Powered workstations
nothing is sacred anymore I tell ya!
So. we all know NVDIA already owns the engineering GPU business . Nut now, with Microsoft coming out with Windows 8 support for ARM (link below) - we got some major disruption baby - I wonder what ARM can do if not confined to 1 watt? How about 98 watts of desktop power? What can NVIDIA do with big brother to Tegra?
"But the implications are clear enough. Desktops, laptops and servers are currently dominated by processors from just two companies. In five years or so, AMD and Intel could well look like the victims in a cheap horror flick, covered by and being consumed by a swarm of small nasties. Some kind of future, eh?"
Wake us up when ARM and NVIDA grow a pair of balls and actually submit a SPEC_CPU for their weak 32-bit toy, oh yeah they have already but are keeping the results secret !! LOL Nevermind Intel did it for them and the facts are the best ARM is slower than the slowest x86, ATOM, by quite some margin !!
That is a great post! Not to mention Intel is building a 5 billion dollar factory to keep up with demand, I am sure ARM can handle taking over all the volume from the entire PC market without any expansion plans....
