If AMD products are so great and the future so rosey, why can't the AMD Board convince someone to take the CEO job? It seems like the only people who don't know about AMD's obvious success are the executives being offered the top job.
Is the AMD Board of Directors telling the candidates about this or is the Board keeping it a secret from them?
AMD just never seems to get out of second gear. Every time that they have a great new product it is overshadowed by Intel. To be fair AMD has had some great products in the past, and at one point five or six years ago they actually made a better CPU, for a while. Intel came along and cleaned AMD's clock. So yes, AMD can come out with the next greatest thing since sliced bread, but don't expect Intel not to respond. In the case of Llano, this CPU is dead in the water. You really sold your Intel stock in favor of this? It's slow, and about the only good thing you can say about it is that the internal graphics are good. It's AMD's poor man's version of Sandy Bridge. About the only good thing to say about it is that it should be good for a home theater PC build. The AMD CPU people are getting excited about is called Bulldozer. 8 cores running close to 4Ghz for around $300. If it gets the slightest bit of traction Intel will respond.
