Buybacks are a waste of money and hpq proved it. Intel should use their cash to either buy their way into the mobile market or they should return the money to the shareholders in the form of a higher annual dividend. The biggest reason for a big buyback is the reduction of shares and the corresponding increase in EPS.If you let them just increase options to employees you're right. Thats why options to exec's should allways be tied to performance to stock price and performance of the corp.
