AMD warns 2 days after UBS upgrade.

As one other poster said, these so called channel checks are a complete joke.

UBS gave this as one of their reasons for upgrading the stock just two days ago.

"Checks show AMD's 32nm foundry process "has shown real improvement" in the 2011 first half."

    AMD said today:

"The company is having 32 nm yield, ramp and manufacturing issues at the GlobalFoundries facility in Dresden, Germany, resulting in limited supply of its Llano processor line.
AMD also said 45 nm supply was less than expected “due to complexities related to the use of common tools across both technology nodes.”

This guy is obviously a complete joke now.
Intel should surely benefit nicely from this AMD fumble.

I looked at the trading pattern over the last few days since the upgrade, and there are a few large spikes. The upgrade seemed to push the stock up about fifty cents. Around 2:00 PM yesterday was a huge 1.3 million share spike. What was that, shorts or funds managers getting the clue that from their friends that with this latest pump it's time to dump?

If the SEC wants to earn their pay they may want to look at those transactions in that period of time. A lucky guess? Really? You can pick up a dollar on a six dollar stock in two days, how often does that happen?

    • Unfort, UBS is also long INTC. But, I agree. Most of these analysts are useless, especially when it comes to semiconductors. Its what keeping INTc from $30 today..
