Folks just don't get it. Specially stupid analyeasts.
Intel really doesn't want to get into mobile devices. Why? Very simple - pathetic low margin retail consumer commodity market business.
So why are they making noises about doing it now? Defensive move, and to please fund managers. Intel doesn't want ARMH creeping up into their high margin territory. ARMH will get clobbered like gophers getting into Otellini's vegetable garden.
ARMH makes pathetic little margin on each chip they make. High volume, miserable margin. Like potatos in a grocery store. That's EXACTLY why they dream about moving into the higher margin notebooks and server.
ARMH will get clobbered. Nobody wins against Intel. Motorola, IBM, Sun, Apple, Sony, AMD, NSM, TI, and others have tried and failed miserably. They all quit or are finding niche markets. Fabless ARMH has a snowflake's chance.
