Intel Corporation Message Board

One big reason to hold Intel here

Depends on when you bought, but if you bought last year when it dropped to 19, you will only need about 23.75 (factoring in the dividend you get for holding) anytime before the end of the year to get the same cash back that you'd get if you sold it tomorrow. Why? because you'd pay 35 percent taxes if you sold tomorrow as opposed to 15 percent if you hold it until later this year.

My gut says you'll get a chance to sell for 23.75 or higher at some point between August and the end of the year.

My crystal ball would would be less hazy if your gut could guarantee intc has significantly reduced reserve treasury shares and reduced outstanding shares.

(Better yet, if those share reductions were retroactive to the year 2008, or 2007.)
