Wow, the desperation of the shorts is overwhelming. Why do you bother to waste our time with such nonsense? In case you haven't figured it out yet, Intel isn't in the PC business, they are in the processor market. All those things that the article cited as replacing the desktop need processors. Processors Intel sells.
Man, I really hope you are scared as you come off. I hope that the market doesn't dip under $26.50 over the next few weeks and you will have to cover at a loss. I'm sure you made a lot of money shorting over the years. Let's hope that you lose all those gains and then some. I kinda figure that you played the short game at earnings last week instead of picking up the usual 10% on a short you are lost.
Sad, sad, sad. I know you don't know how to break the news to your wife what you've done. Do me a favor and leave me her name and phone number. I'll start off by letting her know that her trip to Maui is cancelled.
Intel subsidizes PCs to sell more servers. Servers are the big growth engine here. Intel flooding the market soon with their smartphone/tablet chips will just fuel their server business & add incremental revenue. The Intel business model is basically unstoppable at this point...stock price appreciation will soon follow.
