While not reporting specific numbers a Dell exec says demand for it XPS 13 ultrabook has 3X the expected demand. This model doesn't even have the benefit of Ivy Bridge or Windows 8, which should increase the appeal even further.
Anyone that has dealt with corp IT will fully appreciate that comment about the need for TPM in the platform.
Just look at corp deployment of Windows 7. It took many years for corporate It depts to make the move from XP,...many very successful companies still haven't, and that represents an order of magnitude smaller change than moving to a different ISA SW ecosystem.
All the corp security, managebility, and other SW infrastructure that they have built their businesses around impose huge inertia to change.
Very good time to be long Intel,... Let the good times roll!
Sounds GREAT! We can't build enough of them at the moment," said Sam Burd, vice president of Dell's Consumer and SMB (small and medium business) product group
I was at Frys today and they too were sold out of many Intel Ultra Books models
Intel picked a winner
Where is James Covello hiding now
James is beating off with his rich daddy who got him the job.
James though is just doing what the boass tels him.
Goldman, you know, Corrazine's friends, are likely buying huge sales of Intel while telling their shareholders to sell it.
James makes huge money and looking ike a clown is a small price to pay for that cash.
I knew those would be a big seller amongst corporations. Snowball effect: Corporations buy the for employees, employees love them and show/tell their friends, their friends buy them and tell their friends, those people buy them and buy some for their college kids. Their college kids show their friends........on and on.
It can't be denied anymore: Intel is set to ROAR the next few years and more.
These kinds of statements by computer executive put
the negative analysts against the ultrabooks to shame.
Hope it puts them out of a job too after going against
a great tech company like Intel.
At this point, the greatest.
Did you see this comment on that link? This guy likes his XPS more than his Apple....
I own a personal Macbook Pro, Macbook Air and just bought a Dell XPS 13 for work, since it contains a TPM chip, required by my company. I have owned a lot of PC laptops in my day, but the Dell XPS 13 is the best laptop I have ever owned. Boots up in 12 seconds, beautiful sreen, fast. I am actually starting to prefer it to my macs. I would highly recommend buying the Dell.
