    • Way to go..

    • Whoever said that has forgotten a lot about trading Intel. Like all the parts on how to make a profit...

      --------------

You've never traded a share of Intel, buy-and-hold-forever boy.

      TOOOOOOOOOO

      FUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNY!!!

    • "Intel has to spend 100's of millions every year on R&D just to keep their 95% market share against AMD."

      ***

I can't believe the moron you were responding to said that. Intel grew profits by 27 percent a year for the last five years. Would anyone with a brain try to imply that 27 percent profit growth is just staying even?

Intel's huge R&D budget is the source of its profits. It's the reason Intel is now in total control of the fabrication landscape and why ARMs P/E ratio has been steadily dropping. It's why it has five major smartphone vendors coming on board. It's why AMD has had to totally change its operating model.

Whoever said that has forgotten a lot about trading Intel. Like all the parts on how to make a profit...

    • LMAO..

Intel has to spend 100's of millions every year on R&D just to keep their 95% market share against AMD.

I've forgotten more than you'll ever know about trading INTC jackwad.

Just like you knew more about buying HP after hours and dumping it like a little girl at 23 the next day. Nice losses. I own Intel at an average just under 21 and have never done anything but collect dividends. Now go play in the street, jack-cheese.

    • What I find interesting is that the div yeild is at 3.2%.
Intel will pay you 1/2 the cost of buying their stock. Or put another way lend you money at 3%.
Say you buy 10,000 shares, cost you $276,000. You borrow this money from bank, say morgage your house, pay say 6% interest APR costing you $16,560. Intel will pay you out $9,000. Cost you an extra $7,650 annually. Or put another way 3% APR.

Question is will stock prive increase 3% YOY?
Stock price $28.43 this time next year breaks you even, though cost you nothing.
Stock price $30.00 this time next year makes you $17,000. (+6%)
Stock price $32.00 this time next year makes you $37,000. (+13%)
Stock price $34.00 this time next year makes you $57,000. (+20%)

      If stock price decreases
Stock price $27.00 this time next year loses you $13,000. (-5%)
Stock price $25.00 this time next year makes you $33,000. (-12%)
Stock price $23.00 this time next year makes you $53,000. (-20%)

Considering Intel managements outlook statement the stock price today may be trading at a significant under value to what many investors consider risk vs reward.

Take also into consideration Intel may possibly buy back $8 billion of stock, approx 5% of the float.

      • What you have to do is ask yourself how much you are willing to lose, in a bear market?

Sorry my typo above, should have read
        If stock price decreases
Stock price $27.00 this time next year loses you $13,000. (-5%)
Stock price $25.00 this time next year loses you $33,000. (-12%)
Stock price $23.00 this time next year loses you $53,000. (-20%)

To me the chrisk of losing $10-30K, is at this time far outweighed by the potential reward to be collected should the stock simply keep doing what Intel management say it will be producing.
No indication at this time, that intel won't execute on Server, Ultrabook, PC, Notebook, 22nm or 14nm or mobile Atom. Not to mention they have growth in their aquired bussiness's. McAfe especially is a cash genereting cow. Combine MCafe with SOC and intel has very powerful corporate hardware. Next major US/World threat looks like Cyber security.

When management come out and declare some missed numbers or poor sales, then the risk increases.

Perception in the market that intel is a commodity stock, though little is acknowledged of intels patents, manufacturing prowess, technology leed, and most of all the truley huge amount of R&D the company owns.

Last quaters results were a good measure of smoke and mirrors, honestly, additional $400m in work in progress?

      • never margin stocks.

      • That is what I did.
I bought 13,000 share of intel under 20. and I add 2000 of EMC when it was $10.20 a share. then when it was $20, I added 4000 shares.

So now let the Intrest eat the Div, for years to come, I am still a head of the game.

        Good Model

    • What a dumb assessment by Hdude. Hey man, riddle me this: Do companies that don't plan on growing spend 13 billion in CAPex in on year ?

Do they spend more in R & D in one quarter than ARM spends in a year?

      Stick to cleaning toilets.....

      PWNED

    • "On the other hand, a dividend increase from a stable or gradually growing company is often a positive sign. Not only does it show management's confidence in the firm, but it also demonstrates a commitment to returning wealth to stockholders."

This is also from your link. The discussions started with this message and you tried to give it a different twist.

    • dude, read your own post and you will see where is says "Typically".... your logic is a fad in the case of Intel.

Intel is growing, paying divy, buying back shares + innovation. The goal using those tools is to bring the stock price to 50$ area.

Look at the graph you will see the trend and the proof of why these tools above do work.

    • Idiot,

You are shooting yourself in the foot to show me that it pains. Where is the mention of slowing growth in your definition of dividend?

    • Relax, Intel will increase the Div again in 8 months. it is still taking it up at the same rate but just using smaller incriments to do so.
