    I don't think the thesis of a sudden increase in confidence in Intel's ability to reduce Apple's volumes has sufficient merit.

    There is a general downdraft which is pulling down all companies. And Apple seems to be going down because of that.

    I'm fairly sure that the bigger players are about to get in to lead the markets higher soon. The general direction of the economy is positive even if it requires QE3.

    • We are of the same mind. There is a small possibility but not very big.

      It was just a semi-plausible answer to a repeated semi-question about Apple posted on the Intel board.

    • Apple stock often pulls back on quarterly basis and then rise to new highs. I think currently it is undergoing typical quarterly behavior coupled with broad markets fall. And Apple's pull backs are often accompanied by a slew of negative hype in financial media. I think this has much to do with driving away call options buyers in panic than real concerns.
