What the article really said was that it questions the need for Quadcore on a platform that really can't use the synergy of all four cores.
Quadcore ARM phones, really? We need that? Instead of working on selling faster single and dual cores ARM (left with a near market monopoly) went the quadcore route for phones? That is a bit lazy don't you think? And you're saying it's too late for Intel in mobile? Really?
Well, Motorola is going to use nothing but Intel. And Google will be the owner of Motorola's wireless division. I have not heard Intel say these things, but I have heard Intel talk about Windows 8 alot. I'm sure Microsoft like the power Intel processors will provide it to take full advantage. This will no doubt push Android to be in par with Windows 8, provided that Windows 8 does take advantage of Intel multi core processor's performance.
