Article is so poorly written that even the simple math doesn't work! "FinFETs to come out during the 14nm phase, which will go into risk production in 2014" ??? "That's about a year behind Intel."
No that's about 2 years but we all know that production of 20Nm is more likely in 2014 and TSMC FinFets will be 2015 at the earliest. So really it's 3 years and by that time Intel will have 10Nm and market share.
Remember the capacity that Intel has built in, all will be online in a year or two.
Wow. Looks like no 64-bit ARM at the 20nm process node. You can forget about any ARM based server without 64-bit. The implication here is huge: Intel has the entire server market for years to come with little/no competition.
