Apple wins Samsung lawsuit...
Up almost $12.00 in AH. I wonder how this will effect Apple's relationship with their major supplier?

This is not good. Apple will now stay with Samsung as they have put them in their place. Samsung pushed it as far as they could and now they will just do their own thing and keep making Apple's chips as well.
Intel vs. the World. Not a great scenario..... Had Apple lost, that would have been good for Intel as Apple may have dumped Samsung.- 1 Reply to att4glte

Two very disfunctional companys who don't like each other but too stupid to go their own ways. AAPL may get the short end of the deal if Samsung throws them out on their ear. Samsung has a 1 billion judgement they have to pay and may not want to supply them period. Who do you think AAPL can go to on short notice and supply their needs. Only one vendor comes to mind. Guess who?

There are probably some longer term supply agreement for the processor set in stone.
However Apple needs mobile DRAM and NAND as well
Elpida is in limbo state and Toshiba is cutting back NAND output to stabilize pricing;
Apple has NO alternative (to samsung) for those two (critical) components either at least in short term -
You think that they can figure out how to replace an ARM processor with an X86 processor that quickly? It would be great if it happens.
The next stop will be Google for Apple's legal team. That's why Google bought Motorola. You are about to enter into the era of either having patents or getting sued out of business in the smartphone game. It's looking like it will only be a few large players who survive.
