It was most likely an ETF creation unit for one of the indices that has Intel as a component. ETF creation units are constructed from the component stocks and do not have the luxury of waiting for prices to drop. SP, Dow, Russell, Semiconductor, ...... ETFs.
It could have been Intel as part of their buyback.
Over 60% of the shares are owned by institutions so they are another good candidate.
Pension funds looking for higher yield and wanting to move from the riskier treasuries.
