Surface sales suck, nobody wants ARMH garbage chips

Microsoft CEO says Surface sales 'starting modestly,' DJ reports
Microsoft (MSFT) CEO Steve Ballmer says sales of the company's Surface tablet are "starting modestly," Dow Jones reports, citing an interview with French daily Le Parisien. Ballmer says the modest figures are due to the Surface only being available online and in a few Microsoft stores int he U.S. In the three months following the tablet's launch, Microsoft is planning to offer a high-end version of the tablet equipped with Intel's (INTC) new processor.

    • You forgot the Android Tablets athat will dominate soon. tehy all will run ARM-based chips.

    • and they are going to stay modest. Right, having got WARM/WOA/WinRT out of their system, which has fallen at its first hurdle, they should now look at replacing this model of Surface with

      1) Clovertrail+ (Z2580) with the powerful gpu and LTE
      2) retina screen
      3) 64 GB SSD as their fat o/s takes so much of the 32 GB SSD
      4) keep the price about the same accepting lower margins

.... and then it would actually be a decent Windows 8 iPad alternative !

    • Google (Look at Android now) and Microsoft will reap the benefits.
But this time, the volume of these devices is huge compared to "PC". The volume is what will drive Intel's revenues with Intel starting at ZERO market share.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy
