Many people are more than SHOCKED at the disgusting Republican behavior. They lost a big chunk of those voters because of their efforts to limit voting and other medieval views.
Everyone knows that there is federal laws relating to voting are directed at protecting rights in the absence of state voting laws. This is just more conservative fake outrage. Why not put energies into avocating fixes instead of faking the anger.
How about ANYONE with an IQ of less than 80 cannot vote. That way you would still be able to vote.
I guess it makes sense for the government to decide who gets to vote or not. That is what you are advocating. RIGHT??
For example in Vermont, there are only 4 rules qualifying a voter:
1. U.S. citizenship
2. Vermont residence
3. 18 years or older (by election day)
4. Voters must take the voter’s oath on, or before, election day (stating that the person
will vote his or her conscience and not be told how to vote by another person)
#4 would filter out those who are real incompetent in Vermont.
You are eligible to register to vote if:
•You are a United States citizen;
•You are a resident of the county where you submit the application;
•You are at least 18 years old on Election Day;
•You are not a convicted felon (you may be eligible to vote if you have completed your sentence, probation, and parole); and
•You have not been declared by a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be either totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.
In TEXAS you must be declared mentally incapacitated without rights to vote. Vermont seems tougher than Texas.
