Motorola Atom Razr I beats ARM dual-core Razr M in battery
A multi-core benchmark is not the same as a multi-threaded benchmark. In real world performance tests (engadgetDOTcom and others), Medfeld beats Snapdragon. A 32nm 5 year old ATOM, beating a 28nm Snapdragon in battery life and performance.
ARM is SLOW, cannot run Windows well. Its done.
-----
I know the difference between multi-core and multi-thread:) Geekbench spawns the correct number of threads for the Atom cores. See for yourself:
browserDOTprimatelabsDOTcom
and search on Z2480 .
As for benchmarks, we now have a variety of tests:
Java: Snapdragon wins
Javascript: Medfield wins
Native: Snapdragon wins
GPU: Snapdragon wins
Suites (such as Quadrant, Vellamo, AnTuTu) : Snapdragon wins
As engadget put it:
"Expect the greatest screen or the fastest performance and you're likely to be a little disappointed".
As for windows, I agree with your view that ARM is dead, but not due to performance. Clovertrail is on Geekbench, search for Z2760 and compare it with the ARM solutions in tablets.
