RIM, just like AMD was beat down by short selling. RIM is now up close to 300% in the last few months. Short coving helped fuel that rally. RIM even posted another loss and went up more. This was because the loss was not as bad as expected.
AMD should also have a better than expected 4th Q. AMD cut 15% in employees and will see that savings in Q4. AMD also cut the chip order from Global Foundries by 1.5 billion over 5 months. Close to 400 million cut in order was for Q4. Sure AMD has to pay GF 320 million in penalties spread out over 5 quarters, but the savings on 1.5 billion chips is huge.
Just like 2009, where AMD climbed 400% after a beat down by short selling, I expect history to repeat and do it again in 2013.
Those buying at the current historic lows will make far more money off AMD than Intel.
