Early previewers go nuts over the Lenovo K900

They really love the slim design, specs and potential performance. Intel could have itself a superphone sales winner this year ! Unlike the foundries and thanks to Sandy Bridge building a couple FABs there is no shortage of 32nm wafers too to build as many as the customers want ;-).

    • I watched some videos on this smartphone on youtube.
The more I see it, the more I gotta have it.
LTE version or not, I will buy the phone as soon as it is released in the United States.
If not soon, then I may compare to Motorola smartphone powered by Intel.

But the Lenovo K900 looks so good, I can't see much that anyone else could do to beat it.
The look, the dimensions, and the light weight can't get much better than the K900.
And the fact that it has an Intel chip, the performance should be unbeatable as well.

I just gotta have this phone. Am willing to pay more than what an iPhone costs.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • There is a technical reason why it can be so slim : dual-core Clovertrail+ has a ~2W TDP. To get equivalent performance from the ARM world you would need a ~2W dual-core Apple A6, a ~3W quad-core Qualcomm S4 Pro or a 4W quad-core ARM A9 or 4W dual-core A15. Yes, Intel and Apple have made the best mobile processors of 2013 ! Who would have thought it a year ago before Medfield was released ;-).

I think you are being a tad optimistic on the performance front:) Clovertrail+ (CPU wise) is just a clock bump over the existing clovertail chip. On geekbench this chip (Z2760) scores around the 1400 mark while:

        Apples swift 1583 (iphone 5) and 1776 (ipad 4)
        Qualcomm S4 Pro, 2030 (nexus 4)
        Quad A9 [NVIDIA Tegra 3 T30L 1300 MHz ], 1480, (Asus Nexus 7)
Quad A9 [Samsung Exynos 4412 1600 MHz], 1930, (Samsung Galaxy Note II)
        Dual A15, 2433, (Samsung Nexus 10)

What will gain traction for Clovertrail+ is the decent GPU - if the drivers are up to scratch:)
