If you want to write calls on your shares, you want to be careful how you write them. Intel is a dividend arbitrage target stock. If the premium is low enough, they will buy your calls, exercise them early before expiration date to get your shares.
Next Tueseday is exdividend so they will need to own them on Monday to get the dividend.
If you sell a call, make sure the premium on the call is well above the 22.5 cent dividend to keep them from exercising it early.
mature compainues pay a decent div, growth companies do not. intel's div tells you which one it is. there will be no more real huge growth from intel. 20 years ago i owned intcw. I can remember days when intc moved 8 points a day at times. Dell too. Those days are long gone.
aapl is now going the same route as dell did. matured and phasing down.
