Latest Russ Fischer SA article a must read

"The dark side of me thinks that Apple has insisted on Paul Otellini leaving Intel as a condition to Apple moving their Application Processor fabrication business from the hated Samsung to the only slightly more desirable Intel."

    Interesting thought about Paul's departure.

    • Paul is leaving because with Obama & Moonbeam in there is no reason for a Ca resident to pay 13.3% state, 39.6% federal at his age, why hang in for 4 more years of treading water when you already have all you need. He's had long career, I am sure he's worn out.

    • Interesting. Last week, I caught myself thinking it could be Microsoft/Steve Ballmer pushing for Otellini's departure.

Reasons below. Of course, most of the reasons can be a stumbling block for Apple as well - but Microsoft has been impacted directly and has not done very well in recent years. Apple has been very successful over the last 10 years, there is more reason for Microsoft wanting to do something about this than Apple.

      Reasons:
      1) Otellini's close relationship with Google, Motorola Mobility-Intel deal, Chromebooks
      2) Otellini pushing MeeGo and then Tizen, 2 possible OS competitors to Microsoft
      3) Wintel breakup and Windows RT

      • I believe Ballmer will be gone soon. The guy is a ruthless, yet wholly incompetent blowhard who rode Bill Gates' and Paul Allen's coat tails to riches. And now that Microsoft's monopoly has been busted and he is no longer able to strong arm his way to continued dominance,... Well you can see how well Microsoft has been able to keep up with their competition.

Microsoft has become mostly irrelevant and its time for Ballmer to be shown the door.

Note to Microsoft... What goes around comes around.
