Microsoft CFO Tami Reller that “New devices that run on Windows RT . . . won't be released this spring.” This quote and the paucity of available Windows RT devices led Woody Leonhard of InfoWorld to describe Windows RT as “circling the drain”
Looks like Clover Trail killed Windows RT stone dead just like we said it would.
ARM on Windows tablets is not interesting because there's already several really good ARM based tablets out there. Its very difficult for Surface RT to compete with the iPad and the handful of Android tablets out there, all of which have been refined over a few generations of product. Where ARM is really going to make an impact is in laptop. Microsoft doesn't realize this now, but they've laid the groundwork with WindowsRT for full blown Window laptops based on ARM. The big advantage as I see it is the form factor. They can be fanless and thinner than the MacBook Air. I know you Intel fans don't agree this would sell and the performance gap is too much, but look at the way the MacBook Air was pitched. The selling point was its dimensions and weight not its processor. Most people even now, after decades of Intel indoctrination about the need for MIPS, don't really care how fast their laptop gets the job done as long as they don't have to wait for anything. ARM chips now and in the future can easily provide that. ARM in laptops is what Intel really needs to fear and for good reason.

Yeah MSFT is going to #$%$ victory from the jaws of defeat lol. No-one wanted a WARM tablet but the are all going to fall over themselves to buy a WARM laptop when the alternative is the tougher Haswell not CloverTrail.
Listen to yourself...will you go in for a ARM laptop versus a Bay Trail laptop that can provide better performance at similar battery life? Sure, you will...but most people are rational buyers!
Also Big Assumption - Microsoft will make full Windows run on ARM...!!
When Intel delivers better SoCs than ARM at comparable price points, why would Microsoft try to push ARM? And, if Microsoft tries to do that to get better margins, other OEMs will go with Intel SoCs to deliver better products - so Microsoft will be shooting itself in its foot...
