    Haswell USB Issue Resolved

"UPDATE 12PM CT: Numerous people have called and e-mailed Legit Reviews about this story. It appears that the USB 3.0 issue is isolated to an Innostor USB 3.0 controller that is used on low-cost entry level USB 3.0 Flash drives. We have been told that Innostor is fixing the issue with their controller as it is a client-side issue, but Intel is also implementing a fix on the chipset. The erratum is basically that the USB 3.0 device is at times not detected when the system is coming back from a sleep state. The manual fix is to unplug and replug the drive, so this is very minor. Intel also sent us an e-mail today letting us know that there is no delay with the Haswell platform launch. It looks like the C1 chipsets will be launched as planned in June 2013 and then the board makers will transition to the C2 chipsets sometime after July 2013."

    • I don't quite understand the purpose of the article. If it's a client-side problem with an obscure USB flash-device controller why is Intel "fixing" anything?

As for a manual fix reinserting a USB stick after wake may not be an issue for occasional use but it would be a big deal for those that have USB backup drives, USB printers, USB scanners and other USB devices constantly connected.

USB just needs to work, all the time, before sleep & after sleep. I'm hoping that is what the author was trying to say but if that is what they meant to say it's not clear from this piece.
