Runs Android, has integrated 3G. Perhaps, the US launch will happen towards the end of the year or early next year when Intel comes out integrated LTE. Move on it, Intel!
Kuala Lumpur: Asus Fonepad tablet is now released in South East Asia. Fonepad is a 7 inch tablet and comes with 3G support and voice calling features. Prakash Mallaya, Country Manager of Intel Malaysia and Singapore informed that Asus Fonepad is powered by Intel Atom Z2420 chip that ensures great performance and power efficiency. Interestingly this chip is manufactured in Malaysia.
Asus Fonepad 8 GB version is officially launched in South East Asia. This hand set also support microSD using which it is possible to expand the memory up to 32 GB. Asus Fonepad is the only tablet that is using Intel Atom Z2420 processor. The tablet also has a 3 megapixel rear camera. It also comes equipped with 1.2 MP front facing camera for video calling. The company is offering the tablet in four colors to choose from. VersaSleeve 7 can also be purchased along with the tablet which is a wrap around cover that can be converted into a stand while using the tablet for viewing movies etc. The tablet also comes with several preloaded apps such as Floating App, SonicMaster and Super Note. The handset can be purchased for RM 849 or 283 USD for the 8 GB version.
Asus Fonepad can be said as a competitor for Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Galaxy Note 8 also comes with integrated 3G. Asus Fonepad’s display is smaller than Galaxy Note 8 but both have the same 1280 x 800 pixel resolution.
