I totally can't believe what's going on (or not going on) at Apple. That they just sit dead in the water is incomprehensible to me. They don't even suggest to the press that something might be happening.

I would suspect that if this continues for very long that shareholders will be wanting a regime change.

Seems like a perfect time for Apple to get off its duff and do a deal with Intel. Or maybe they already have.

Apple needs to do something - anything. Can anyone imagine Steve Jobs letting this happen on his watch?

    • Apples biggest hurdle is that it (re) introduced the tablet to the world. Macbooks stayed decidedly notebooks will ultra slim designs that appealed to fashion conscience user base. problem is that MacAir FAILED to evolve into touch enabled convertables, likewise iPad failed and will continue to fail as convertable. Bothe these are due to a culmination of OS constraints and performance constraints due to ARM architecture. Next problem is that should MacAir-touch arrive it WILL canibalise Apples own iPad market.
Apples problem is that intel based Tablets, phones, Notebooks, Convertables are already here on the market and selling head to head with better features against Apple offerings. Other problem Apple is facing is that intel based superior products will be getting even better, very much so, in the very near future.
Why have an iPad/MacAir/Iphone, when soon (now) all you will need is an intel powered Convertable and or an android or Win8 phone.
Yes, PO is completely right in NOT boutique manufacturing a competitors processor, especially when intel can offer a superior performance and power saving solution off the shelf.
Apple, dare I say it, can we accuse of lacking innovation? Past examples of companies that had great market grabbing products though failed to innovate, leaving them DOA: Nokia, RIM,Sony(Vio), Sony (PS3), Palm(pilot), MS (original Tablets), Various record media, & harware companies.

    • oh brother.
      So predictable. So stupid.

      Sentiment: Strong Sell

    • iPAD mini demand drops, confirmed by one of the supplier, Cirrus.

    • AAPL came out with a new APP to watch its stock

      Called it: IDrop

    • The sever attack on Apple today was primarily by hedge funds to push indexes down imo.

What happened to David Einhorn suggestions of big divy or buy back?! nada so far. maybe on their ER they will shade more light

    • So you are saying Apple stock has collapsed because they aren't working with Intel?

      • "So you are saying Apple stock has collapsed because they aren't working with Intel?"

[Not at all. I'm saying Apple stock has collapsed because they are not doing anything and not working with anyone. Tim Cook has decided to play it safe and it's turned out to be a disaster. But they could at least be on the cutting edge of performance by doing a deal with Intel instead of trying to eek out an existence on ARM's pitifully fading fabrication. Relying on TSMC to pull off enough capacity at 20nm for them is chocked full of risk for little performance improvement. Charlie said Cisco didn't have any choice but to go with Intel. I'd conclude the exact same thing is true for Apple...]
