    Intel's Dilemma

Good article from David Manners. David has been covering semiconductors for 30+ years.

    Google: Intel's Dilemma

    Here is my favorite part:

"It's quite understandable that Intel wants to be the standard processor in mobile. But ARM is the standard processor for mobile. Why should the mobile world switch to a different standard processor?

Only if Intel produces mobile SoCs so stunningly superior in performance to ARM-based SoCs that the mobile world thinks its worth making the effort to switch.

Which Intel can't. And even if Intel could, would the mobile world want to adopt a sole-sourced standard processor?

A wise man once said: "You only get one chance to screw the industry."

    Intel's had its chance."
