The Acer product illustrates my point. When consumers can purchase a tablet that gives them access to both Windows and Android and their respective app ecosystems, hardware benchmarks become less relevant to the purchase decision. Dual boot is an immediate recognizable difference between Intel and ARM based tablets that buyers can understand.
Now when the Intel products also deliver the best performing hardware and battery life consumer expectations for tablets will have been reset to what Intel offers. Single OS tablets with limited flexibility will move to the discount table.
