My son , an avid apple fan for his whole post teen life, is now a professional...he now says the only serious computing is done on x86 based hardware. He is buying large Intel inside systems for his own company (for video editing). The PC-Desktop is a sedan or an SUV, while the tablet is a sportscar.
You'll never see one replace the other.
Tonner is a mindless parrot..."PC is Dead" what garbage. Motley Fool is utter excrement. No credentials at all. They post titles that make you think they may be objective, or even supportive of INTC, only to suck you in to the usual bashing balderdash. I wish there was a "super-ignore" feature for all Motley Fools articles.
He looks so young, was probably 10 years old when AMD and Intel were truly competitive, and with no real tech background (analysts aren't technologists) he can't comprehend the coming storm that is Intel with a true focus on mobile.
He also can't comprehend that Apple is now so big that it needs to innovate on the same industry shocking scale as with the iPhone just to get back to growth, and that margin shrinkage will more than counter any top line growth going forward.
I have no position in AAPL but have been following them since the early Mac days and even implemented a rollout of Mac OSX (the original version) many moons ago. Back then only the imaging and advertising gurus used Macs, so it wasn't a huge rollout by any means, nor was it simple since they insisted on using non-standard network protocols.
