You're right, I should be reading Semi Wiki. I miss Ed telling us all how Apple would have taken over the corporate world now. How has that worked out? All those Apple servers shipping all over the world? You've been so wrong for so long. But lets play along with you, what if Intel is six months late? It would only put them 4.5 years ahead instead of five.
Let's play along and assume you're right. So what ? Are existing 22nm Haswell and Silvermont unable to increase Intels revenue and marketshare ? No, they are both quantum leaps over their immediate predecessors and much better overall than their AMD/ARM competition. Design is always more important than process size and Intel have the best ones yet again. 14nm is only a cost reducer in this part of Intel's processor cycle, Haswell and Silvermont don't really need it to wreak havoc. Anyway where's the foundry's 20nm, 14-16nm FinFETs on 20nm etc etc ? They need better processes much more than Intel because they are lumbered with the inferior designs.
