Forbes: Galaxy What? ASUS Transforms Your Zen With Impressive Tablets, Phablets And Ultrabooks At IFA
Samsung may be dishing up their latest offering of Galaxy bling this week but they’re not the only manufacturer in Berlin making noise with new mobile technologies at the IFA show. ASUS has decided to use the European venue to announce a number of notebooks and tablets that offer interesting and potentially differentiating features, as well as notable design choices.
The Transformer Book Trio is a hybrid machine in the form of an 11.6-inch convertible tablet-notebook device. It can not only boot Windows 8 and Android 4.2 but its keyboard dock is actually a Windows 8 PC is powered by an Intel INTC -0.38% 4th generation Core series processor. You can just attach a display to it via mini HDMI or mini Display port and you have a fully functional stand-alone Windows 8 computer, as well an Android tablet when the tablet is detached.
The tablet sports an Atom Z2760 SoC which is what powers your Android experience. You can configure the machine with 4GB of RAM (2GB for the tablet separately) up to a 1TB hard drive (PC keyboard dock) and 64GB of on-board storage for the tablet. Talk about a Swiss Army Knife. ASUS was thinking outside the box with this one and I like it.
