The analyst have already lowered their estimates so low it is practically impossible for Intel to miss the quarter. Just because they meet or beat the estimate is not necessarily a really really positive signal.
Example: ABC Co. made $4.00 last year and this year they are forecasted to make $2.00. They report earnings and beat estimates by .10 and earn $2.10 for the year. Wow!!! Now lets all buy the stock and push it to an all time high. Yeah, that makes sense?
Can someone please explain to me what you bulls are thinking? Even if Intel is the number chip maker and is perceived to have little competition I am still seeing a slack in demand and falling chip prices. What gives?
slack in demand...true..but have u seen the cyclic times with the semiconductor sector before? the cycle frequency has changed and the low amplitude (bottom) has changed..slack is not doom...
falling chip prices...chip prices always fall..
change your point of view for a moment..try to see the big picture, 1 billion PCs connected..who's going to make money doing it...pick those winners and buy their stock.."don't worry..be happy..short term 's crappy.." hmmmm ..looks like another song line
