You are obviously one of the few intelligent
shorts on this board. I laud you. I wish, I could be
successful at trading but do not have the discipline, plus I
don't have the time. But I have been very successful
with long term investments. As I have mentioned, I
have held Intel through 3 splits and a 4th one is
coming. That will be a 16 fold increase in my investment.
Intel has made me a pot load of money. It has also been
through a number of set backs but has come back with a
vengeance. A friend of mine bought Intel at 70 and sold at
102. He was very happy with a 45% gain. I did not
sell, and now Intel is at a presplit value of 152. If
he had have held on, he would have made another 51%.
Good luck to you. There is money to be made on both
Thank you for your insightful reply to my post.
You make very specific, thought-provoling counters to
my assertions, which have given me serious pause to
reevaluate my position.
Well, maybe not
Actually, I would suggest this truism instead: Bulls &
Bears make money, but traders (those who close
positions after "gains" of 10% or less) make pocket change
(and/or their brokerage richer). FYI, in the past I have
been short for YEARS on some stocks, and there are
some long positions that I've held for over a decade.

away!! Wish it away!! hehehehe
heh heh Not worth
the effort its already being done...can't find any
Athlon systems around. Wonder why AMD doesn't just go
ahead and annouce a 1Ghz processor, it will be just as
available as the 650Mhz...
after INTC releases their earnings. I think INTC
will probably meet or beat anaylst estimates, but
there is going to be guidance on next quarter and next
1) Athlon is going to be a thorn
in their side for a long. May have to slash prices
just to sell their sh*t.
2) Merced is late.
Very late!! This will cut into their
3) The internet sector of their their business will
not pay dividens for at least 5 years. The broadband
revolution will not come into fruition for at least 3 years.
Many area will not get it till next year. Other areas
will not get it for at least 2-3 years. Will not be
affordable for the mast for at least 3-5 years.
think they will continue to lose market share in the
processor sector to AMD in the high end and other companies
in the low end. I like what they are doing moving
into the internet sector, but again I think they will
lose money here until they can market this to the
consumers (3-5 years).
Look for a possible drop to
the low 60's after earnings. Still a great long term
Wish it away!! Wish it away!! Aunty Bee Aunty
Bee. Wish it away!! Wish it away!!
