Looks like the CNN crew had fun and drove Tesla Model S from DC to Boston last night without any issues. Go look at CNN homepage. They had camaras with them and 3 people so CNN tv wil probably be doing news story
No mention of miles traveled comparing the car's projected range? How many miles remaining when he made it to the charging station. What was the outside temp? This guy is a reporter? . Did he write it before or after the road trip?
Sentiment: Strong Sell
They arrived with over 40 miles left with heaters blaster and detours as well
Sentiment: Buy
They did a GREAT story!!! said the trip was "a piece of CAKE"
"As you can tell from the dateline, I made it to Boston. The final stretch, about 150 miles from Tesla's Milford, Conn. Supercharger station located on Interstate 95, was a piece of cake."
Just read the story. They drove 60 on the Jersey Tpk. Most cars go between 75/80. It's a joke. In the middle on the story there is a video promote starring Elon. Hardly objective reporting. Did Tesla paid CNN for the promotion video? Why was it there? It's an I love Eloon video. Shameful! What's needed in a real story on a cold day by Cory Johnson of Bloomberg.
Sentiment: Strong Sell
Most electric and hybrid car drivers operate their cars a little differently. We frequently drive a bit slower, coast a bit more, and value smooth acceleration and gradual decreases in speed rather than rapid starts or heavy braking. I drive 60 mph on E or eco mode on highways too to maximize range. But when I need to overtake or merge onto the highway I put the car on D mode for fast acceleration. People drive slower now to save money on gas too. There's no crime in going the speed limit on the slow lane of the highway.
Did they park the car overnight without plugging it in? I doubt it.
It was cold last night. This is issue brought out in the NYT piece.
Something sounds a little Fishy in the Media Flip Flop... LOL
