May work for a short haul / daily commuter... for second car, perhaps. But never for long haul or heavy duty cycle (taxis). Pure EVs like TSLA needs to rethink and go for the quick battery swap modle that the Japanese are using. Otherwise, EV - extended range (EVer) like the Fisker Karma start to look very good. That is if can build them.
And side by side, Nat Gas continues to look better..."Fast fill" can be done at a natural gas refueling station in about five to seven minutes, with a much lighter curb weight.
i take my car on business trips. Yes it does planning. yes there are some comprimisses. All worth it. often I charge at camp grounds with 240V 50amp service....about 30mi/hr of charge. i read surf the internet or go for a walk and make phone calls. i also charge at Nissan dealerships, they have been very supportive of EV's.
