Do our shorts UNDERSTAND the "power" (pun intended) that exists with a Utilities companies BALANCE SHEET? EV's are a HUGE boon for the electric utilities. For one thing, they will put some "gitty up" in their growth for wall street.
Great article/REVIEW they love the car. For the complete article Google title, Test driving the Tesla Model S sedan" and you should find. Article was published Friday in the North West Florida Daily News Paper.
"This thing is a beautiful piece of machinery and just oozes style with every curve.
One of the coolest features to me actually is the door handles, as strange as that sounds. When the doors are locked, the handles retract into the door and become flush with the rest of side. When the driver walks up to the car with the electronic key, the handles automatically pop out.
And it’s hard to explain, but the doors just open differently. On every other car door I’ve opened, you pull on the handle and the handle moves until the door has been unlatched and it opens. With the Tesla, the handle doesn’t move. The car just reads that you want the door open and lets you open it. Very cool.
A lot of cars have touch screens nowadays, but the Tesla’s screen was huge. At 17 inches, it takes up the entire center of the dash and is used for everything from maps to changing suspension to the video feed from the rear camera when the car’s in reverse.
I took my ride in the Tesla with Jeff Rogers, Gulf Power’s corporate communications manager, who is a car guy. Although he had seen it before, it was the first time he was able to get a real impression of the car, and he felt the same way I did.
“That is the first time I’ve seen it up close,” Rogers said. “That is gorgeous. They have some good designers working there.”
Yes, it's VERY impressive, especially when you consider Gulf Power (aka Southern Company) is the nations 16th largest utility. Ah, the balance sheet of a utility HUNGRY for growth, it is an amazing invention of MAN, capable of wondrous deeds and feats of amazement. LOL :-)
"My final thought on the Tesla Model S is that I want one. It was the most amazing piece of technology I have ever sat in, and it drives incredible. If I win the $320 million Power Ball jackpot this weekend, the Tesla is going to be one of the first things I buy. Assuming that doesn’t happen, though, my birthday is in December. You all know what I want now."
