You run out of in this case buyers. They don't have more money to put in. New potential buyers think it is over valued.
Conversely you can run out of sellers on the way down. The stock is considered undervalued new buyers pick up cheap shares..
These events are often marked by high Volume no change in price or reversal of the stock trend up or down.
Buyers become exhausted (Run out of money not enough new buyers) Then People in for the run sell and the stock goes down generally on high volume.
It works the same way for stocks going down.( Seller exhaustion.).
This could be a one day event or not. We will know more tomorrow.

And this is not a turn around day - it's simply balancing out which is healthy. Better than creating a giant bubble ahead of the news. Makes it much more predictable.
i didnt short . i am from the school of thought when you are 1000% convinced a stock is going to go a certain way, do the opposite of how you feel. the deeper the conviction, the more you risk. and right now i am totally convinced tsla is finished for awhile. so i bought. try it, it really works.
