    energy independence ....cont'd...

...THIS IS HOW WE "BRING THE PRICE OF OIL DOWN... DRAMATICALLY...BY CUTTING "GLOBAL DEMAND" BY 50% OVER THE NEXT FEW YEARS...BY GOING MASSIVELY "WITH PURE ELEC" CARS ON AMERICAN AND ASIAN AND EUROPEAN ROADS (NO GASOLINE OR HYBRID FAKE DILUTED GASOLINE-USING COMBO)...(these hybrids still depend on gasoline TOO MUCH... and their pure-elec range is very limited...the Ford only gets about 21 miles range ...when only running on the batteries, etc...TESLA 250 miles or more PER CHG...

so this is the way to go in the future and a LOT CHEAPER THAN "BEING DEPENDENT" ON MID-EAST OIL... ESPECIALLY WITH THE WHOLE MID-EAST "INCREASINGLY FLARING UP OVER THERE"...

YOU KNOW GASOLINE GONNA BE $10-20 DOLLARS A GALLON ...PROBABLY STARTING AT 10 BY 2015 AND A FEW YEARS LATER IT WILL BE 20 DOLLARS A GALLON

IMAGINE SAYING "FILLER UP" WITH YOUR SUV in a the not-to-distant future... AND IT'S $300. EACH TIME YOU DO THAT ...LIKE ONCE A WEEK... GET READY FOR THAT....

OR "GET A TESLA" BEFORE THERE'S A "RUN ON THEM...." ...AND THE "WAITING LIST IS LONG...AND THE PRICE ON PLACES LIKE EBAY IS WAY HIGHER "THAN YOU COULD HAVE GOTTEN ONE FOR ...AT THIS TIME...

    • there will be a flood of cheap electric cars before gas gets to $10 its not rocket science. Germans are producing electric cars and its super easy for a manufacture to switch over, but before that battery technology will improve with cheaper batteries but the real prob is the grid. The fill station is still approx 50% coal fired. I guess if you dont care about running a coal powered car. NAT gas is cheap and plentiful and its a better short term solution. IF the grid ever gets revamped and coal plants are replaced and you can charge with cleanly produced energy I am all for EVs. Its just not there yet EVs are grid dependant and for now approx 50% coal. So unless you are in a state with surplus hydro or have your own PV farm your running on over 50% coal ... if you think thats a good thing because its cheaper OK but the green story just is a lie.

      Sentiment: Strong Sell

    • Weed is "green" too.
      Youre an idiot.
Are you really going to pay $90,000 for a fast car so you can move your stinking carbon footprint from the exhaust pipe to the coal plant that produces over 65% of your goofy green BS? You deserve Tesla...buy more stock now !! lol

      • Energy Independence and Supply Demand relationships have nothing to do with being "green" or carbon footprints. EV and Solar are about economics. The only reason we are having the "green" or "political" arguments is because Solar electricity combined with storage and electric motors in EV are decreasing in price and crossing over with the Fossil Fuel ICE engine vehicle energy delivery system.

This is not a green issue, its just politics as usual trying to game the trends so as to take credit for something that is inevitable due to COST

Start plugging those numbers into math problems and see what you come up with. If you can get through the math, I'm sure you will surprise yourself

p.s. look at my other post, I started it for you.

arguing that EV are not viable because they are not "green" or because TSLA stock is overvalued is complete BS

EV ARE HERE BECAUSE OF COST AND THATS IT.

FIRST THERE WAS 1 CAR COMPANY MAKING ICE CARS
THEN THERE WERE 100 CAR COMPANIES MAKING ICE CARS.
THEN THERE WERE 20 CAR COMPANIES MAKING MOST OF THE CARS.
THEN THERE WERE 100 PV COMPANIES MAKING SOLAR PANELS.
THEN THERE WERE 20 PV COMPANIES MAKING SOLAR PANELS.
THEN BATTERIES WERE USED BY SCIENTISTS
THEN BATTERIES WERE USED IN EVERY SMALL PORTABLE DEVICE NEEDING POWER

BATTERIES ARE USED IN EVERY PORTABLE DEVICE SMALLER THAN THOSE USED FOR HUMAN TRANSPORTATION AND NOW ARE CHEAP ENOUGH TO HELP RUN A CAR CHEAPER THAN ICE.

IF IT MOVES, THE EVER DECLINING PRICE OF SOLAR AND SOME FORM OF STORAGE, WILL ULTIMATELY BE THE MECHANISMS THAT MOVE IT.

WHAT IS MORE EXPENSIVE FOR EV EVEN WITH YOUR 65% coal to EV conversion

GREEN DON'T MAKE THINGS HAPPEN HIPPIES ECONOMICS DOES
OVER THE LONG TERM CHEAPER IS GREENER AS LONG AS ALL COSTS ARE FIGURED IN.
SOLAR IS HERE BECAUSE ITS CHEAPER.
BATTERIES ARE HERE BECAUSE THEY AND ELECTRICITY ARE CHEAPER THAN ICE AND FOSSIL FUELS

      • THE EMPHASIS IS ON "OIL INDEPENDENCE"

A LOT OF OUR POWER "COMES FROM NUCLEAR and we are ramping UP on ...WIND, SOLAR, GEOTHERMAL...

SO "COAL" GOING DOWN TO """""" YOU #$%$.....(BOTH COAL AND OIL ARE GOING "DOWN")

I can "tell your a shill" for the "old boy networks"

you are "yours" ARE GONNA GET "TRASHED" ...JUST A MATTER A TIME...

BIG OIL...BIG COAL...AND BIG GUZZLER... "you're on your LAST LEGS" and I'm just gonna HELP ...kick them "out from under you"

you can't imagine ...you think money runs thing...THERE ARE "BIGGER THINGS "YOU ARE CLUELESS ABOUT" ...THAT "RUN MONEY"...

I don't even have to "write here" to use some of that... AND THAT WILL HAPPEN "with or without me," ...
...since I'm just messin' around here a little bit... "mostly to annoy you negative vested interest types..."
