Tesla filed a new patent yesterday. This patent monitors batteries for heat, short circuits and problems. The patent said lithium batteries are dangerous and can explode, ignite or catch fire during a collision, puncture or damage to the battery.
IMHO the attorneys were just handed Tesla's admission of guilt
You're an idiot, really.
Why would it be a disadvantage to take a solid design and improve upon it?
IMO, Tesla's reaction to the adverse effects is the same as when the Tylenol poisonings occurred a long time ago - they are pro-actively working to improve the solution.
Remind me again why I have to take my shoes off to clear security for boarding an aircraft? It's idiots like YOU that look for effing things like this
Will Tesla be using a totally non-flammable anti-freeze in the battery system in the future? The liquids spilled out of the first and third cars in their videos appeared to be a good source of some of the flames involved under the car. (ethelyne glycol has a flash point of 272*F)
Admission of guilt? It's no secret when you drive a steel structure through one of these batteries you have a powerful direct short. And they're taking steps to prevent these explosions, fires, etc is going to be a real problem for them? I doubt it.
And there is no disclosure anywhere regarding ICE vehicles that says if you rupture a 30 gallon gas tank it could explode and be dangerous to your health? If there is then they better lawyer up huh?
