Last years dividend was outstanding. This year looks pretty decent as well, for whatever reason. I'm not entirely sure why there is much of a dividend, and too lazy to research it , but I'll take it. A couple of my etf's had surprising dividends just announced. Cool.
I have a few of these as well - Last year I contacted the fund managers and found out why. It is because they 'rented' out shares of the individual companies held in the fund. Normally those renting shares are short sellers. This year I received a Substitute Payment in place of a dividend. That means the TAN was not in my account but loaned to a third party when the dividend came due. I should expect a credit for the additional TAX liability incurred by the payment vs. dividend.
