It seems like the Motley Fool is made up of a lot of psuedo-pundits that just like to see their opinions published, but these 2 quotes from the most recent Motley Fool piece I thought were telling. Here are the quotes:
1) "What's more, just last month Motley Fool co-founder David Gardner reiterated the need for investors in the additive manufacturing space to maintain a long-term outlook, going so far as to compare 3-D printing to investing in the Internet in 1997: "Think about what the Internet has become over the last 20 years. It has absolutely become integral to the lives of billions of people on the planet." It stands to reason, then, if additive manufacturing could achieve even a fraction of the Internet's household utility over the long haul, today's investors would be handsomely rewarded."
2) "What does that mean for 3D Systems shareholders now? Despite today's drop, nothing has changed the staggering long-term potential for the 3-D printing industry. If you can keep your wits about you and remain patient, its a safe bet today's volatility will barely register as a blip in the radar down the road."
Two very good philosophies, and something to seriously think about when these wild short-term fluctuations occur. Hopefully following the earnings release on Monday it will be time for the short's heads and stomachs to spin.
Excuse me sir, but the earnings are going to destroy the shorts. I just hope we don't hear about many suicides on monday, hopefully those soon to be broke hustlers get help instead of taking the easy way out.
You are correct, maros. On Monday the shorts will understand why we're holding DDD for the long term. All you have to do is look at DDD's upward move after the last quarterly release. This time I expect an even stronger move higher based on trading post split shares. GL.
While the sky's the limit for the long holders here, and we all know the stock is going to reverse direction and this is just a minor short-term drop, the shorts have to be sitting on pins and needles every time the stock starts moving higher. This stock can make an $8-$10 move higher as fast or faster than the past couple of day's drops. I purchased a few hundred more shares with today's sale prices.
