These 3D printed plastic guns are worse than toys. Even the creator admitted his fear that the bullet would explode the gun and his hand. Good science, poor product. Criminals are too lazy to buy a 3D printer and do the work to create a 3D gun. Bogus hype.
I don't know if this is BS but if it's true I see it as a plus. It would be a sign of recognition of the far reaching potential of 3D printing. Personally I think we're still a bit away from printing components to the tolerances needed to make up a gun.
Besides, thugs and libertarians can print all the guns they want, but they won't be any good because they will still need the ammunition. Of course the media won't tell you this because if they did people would stop reading and seeing their paid advertising. Profitability is the end-goal of the media, and NOT keeping us informed.
