I build positions 1st. Then sell my high, only into profit, add a dip, and repeat. It's investing in the long term trend which is up but not just coasting on the uptrend. I don't trade often, but I win. I carry 4 to 6 positions and modify them from time to time, based on long term and short term trends. Been working for 17 years.
Thanks, Challenge, Girrl, and Lambert, for a thread with three rational comments in a row. I get so tired of the name calling on here by so many posters. I enjoy reading positive and negative comments about the stock, but I can do without the knee jerk flame throwing that makes up so many Yahoo MB comments..
thank you cunninginvestor! i agree with you re the yahoo mb - unfortunate really as there are good and useful things out there that can be useful for others. i'm sure other people would post here more often too if there were fewer people bashing others on these boards.
i agree with lambert! if you;ve found a great system for yourself that works, then just stick with it! no reason to change something that's working for you :) i just introduced this other system in order to give an explanation of why i was saying ddd will drop to the $47's or $48's in september. things just snowballed from there as some people were interested in learning more about this system. that's all. it's a good system - and works. but not everyone will be interested in using it. and that's fine - but to bash it (or me) as some people have done is just ignorant really. so, if you're happy with your own system, then just keep it up! you'll continue doing well with using what you already know works well for you and your trading/ investing style :)
