The Lbix and Jsda CEOs are very different, but I like them both and think they are both on the right track. Jsda will throw many things against the wall and is happy if some things stick. Target may or may not have been a mistake. It may lead to Jsda taking cans national and certainly got it a lot of exposure. Getting the soda into Panera with employee labels was a stroke of genius. I don't know how good the margins are, but for building the brand it's great. I got in the day I read the news 4 years ago. Lbix, as we heard on the call, wouldn't go after that kind of thing. McRae impresses me very much as having his eye on the ball and doesn't get excited by momentary hype. He seems also very focused on costs. He doesn't even have anyone even on the call with him. Van Stolk is into hype, but sometimes the hype becomes meaningful for the long term. As I started out, very different approaches, but I'm on board with both.
I feel good about both companies and if LBIX moves like JSDA it could make for a great story to bore the grandkids with one day. I know my wife is already done with my JSDA story - she wants to see the cash but I want to see $25 first.
Have not seen the True Blue or sports drink in the PA/MD/DC/VA. Anyone have a location? No lacator link on LBIX web site
