Deutsche Bank Sees A Positive Q2 For Solar Stocks

    By Alexander Eule
Solar stocks are generating some buzz, of late, on Wall Street. Today, Deutsche Bank analyst Steve O’Rourke adds to the positive commentary, writing that the upcoming Q2 reports from the solar panel makers should be strong, with second-half forecasts also likely to be better than expected.

O’Rourke notes that near-term strength in Germany should help First Solar (FSLR), in particular.

Looking to 2011, O’Rourke said that increased manufacturing capacity is likely to lead to a module oversupply in 2011.

“We believe that should an oversupply manifest in 2011, the pure play solar PV [photovoltaics] companies best positioned would be those with strong downstream businesses (e.g., First Solar, SunPower (SPWRA)).
