They're investing in making production more cost competitive. The company is currently losing money and the goal of this project is to turn that around. The PR is just giving the company's estimate of how much it costs to do that, namely ~50-70M: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/sunpower-expects-charges-tied-plant-115309104.html We already knew this was happening so it's nothing really new.
several board members here need to go on a universal ignore listthe best news coming out of these charges was that they are on track to meet their cost / kw targets as part of an overall continuous improvement / cost reduction process
I think you misundertood the restructuring charge is between $51-$69milsotherwise get the F outof this board.
