    • you are an idiot. If the share price craters YOU buyback shares at lower prices to increase shareholder value for existing shareholders.
How is that catering to whim of day traders? Huge cash position should be put to work for shareholders at right time. A lower share price is the right time to buyback NOT when it goes up schmuck

      • the idea is not to put a hurt on shorts BUT to increase shareholder value. Most of these hft crooked shorts are probably doing naked shorts anyway. Buyback shares near lows NOT near highs. $140 mil+ in cash after 40 mil buyback reduce float and increase shareholder value. This is not mgt's money it is shareholder money. BUYBACK at LOW prices not high. If stock price at 12 then best for dividend. in the end this company is going to be bought out eventually. it is easily digestible by a Private equity or one of the big guys mat or hasbro.

      • To play devil's advocate, doing a buyback takes company money to reduce the float. The company's financial position is thus weakened and if, as some believe, the stock is being moved around for trading profits by various individuals with big pockets, a lower float allows them to swing the price further.

If the company initiated a dividend, which they've said they're not interested in doing right now, those who short the stock have to come up with the cash to pay it on top of the interest for borrowing the stock. That is how you can put a hurt on those who short the stock.

I'd rather not have the company buy back the shares so Milken gains more than 50% of the voting power (up from 42.7%). He has effective control now. He would have absolute control then. Plus, the stock has the potential to become even more erratic since there are fewer shares out there.

    • So management needs to cater to the whims of day traders? No. Their role is to manage the company, grow revenues, grow earnings and keep stakeholders aware of significant events. To that end they've done a great job.

      Pity on you.
