Surge in transportation requirements will help refinery

40 new trucks added by Trans Wonderland Ltd (TWL) will lead to an eventual 9,000 trucks for the LNG projects. I would gues IOC's refinery will be cranking out fuel. So what happens if that refinery does get to or close to capacity by the time the CSP is up and running? At one point there was mention of a possible new refinery at Oreo Bay as part of the petroleum park/deep water port.

The concern with all this increased truck traffic is the condition or lack of proper roads to the Highlands area. I think before much longer we will hear more about Kavo's Kina kall for those promised infrastructure dollars.

HO HO HO -- GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT:

"Jacob Luke president of the Road Transport Association said at the launching ceremony that the condition of the highway was a matter of great concern.

He said it makes no sense to buy all the big trucks to serve the projects in the Highlands when the condition of the Highlands Highway is in such a deteriorating state.

Roads should be built before businesses are created, he said."

    • When I saw those trucks Palm I thought the same thing. All I could see were those little numbers on the Interoil gas pumps spinning around like a one armed bandit at a Rino casino.
