While I am not familiar with oil and gas agreements, I have been involved in both sides of some reasonably complex bid processes, and it does not take a long time to figure out which is the best offer. Especially here, since we have had similar versions of probably most of the bids for over 6 months. One wonders what reason they have for needing a month or more to decide. My guess is that the role of the government is greater than we hoped and that there are ongoing negotiations with them. Could be many other reasons, but the likelihood that there are more than one bid that are equally advantageous, and therefore require going back and forth just seems hard to beleive after more than a year at this process. I am baffled why it takes this long. But of course, it has...so we wait. And so the shorts have their way AGAIN.
Yes.. Yes... Exxon is fighting off some regional oil and gas companies.. They are feverishly trying to come up with funds to outbid other companies like fiji petroleum and Soloman islands national oil and gas companies. My sources say that exxon is close but don't quite have it at hand!
