Exxon Project (PNG LNG) ; Spread out across The Highlands Provinces: Upstream, Gas Processing, Condensate Stripping and much of Land Pipeline / Gulf Provinces: Land pipeline and entrance to underwater pipeline / Port Morseby: LNG Plant , High Population Density (32 people/sq km). 720 km development corridor. See Figure 13: Project Footprint Comparison.
60,000 Project Area Land Owners. Less certain property rights system that means multiple people have claims to the same land. Very rugged terrain with ~6000 foot elevation changes.
PNG LNG Pipeline Route. Cross Section & Overhead Views. Remote location and rugged terrain has necessitated a very impressive logistics operation as depicted in Figure 15: Logistics Map to Supply PNG LNG Project. The airport that was constructed added particular expense and delays due to the deadly landside in the area, which some connect to the airport. Smaller pay zone for resource
IOC Project (Gulf LNG) ;
All of project resource fields and processing/liquefaction infrastructure are in a relatively small area in the Gulf Province. (See Figure 13, Figure 14, and Figure 15 ) . Low Population Density (8 people/sq km) . 120 km development corridor The entire area of PRL15 (Elk/Antelope) only has 800 people.18
Pipeline development will add some, but likely to be much smaller due to 1/6th the development corridor length and 1/4th the population density. A clear property right system based on the oldest son inheriting the land. Large pay zone and large area of closure should make for easy development. (See Appendix G: Net Pay Comparison between Hides and Antelope on page 29)
